To get you started on your Tarot journey, we have put keywords meanings for all the Tarot cards here on our site. These keywords are the "bare bones" of what the cards stand for but are enough to get you started as a beginner - one thing you don't want to be at this point is overwhelmed - and learning Tarot can be daunting to say the least!
We also have an ebook "Basic Tarot Card Meanings" available which is a much more comprehensive look at the cards but written in a no-nonsense style and perfect for the beginner.

For the complete Tarot virgin there are 78 cards in total, divided into two sets - the Major and Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards, and the Minor Arcana has four suits, each with 14 cards. As the names suggest, the Major cards carry the more important message, we like to think of the Majors as providing the big picture and the Minors filling in the details. The explanations will more clearly illustrate this.
Which brings us neatly to a very valuable lesson in your development. You will get a booklet with your deck of cards, any set you buy will have one ranging from a very detailed manual to simple keywords like we have listed here. Use it by all means, but it is much more important to find what the cards are saying to you, and to you personally. We will teach you some techniques for developing your own "voice" with your deck further on.
Don't get frustrated at the beginning, realise that sometimes the message won't be clear (like learning a foreign language!) and remember the more complicated techniques, like reading the cards in pairs, will come naturally as you study.
