Runes

Runes are used in a similar way to the Tarot or the I Ching for divination purposes. Each rune has a different meaning and when cast the reader will use this meaning together with the position where the rune falls to make their forecast.

Each Rune set consists of 25 tablets, usually made of stone, wood or marble. Reversals can be read with runes, but a big difference between them and Tarot is that some runes can only be read upright. The 25 rune stones are shown below.

We have a new contributor joining us shortly who is going to provide some in-depth features on the history of, and using rune stones so come back soon for these new articles.

In the meantime, we have pictured the runes for you to familiarise yourself with them.
