Predicting Time with Tarot
People have varying degrees of success with trying to time events in their spreads. Some say they hit the mark every time, some say it just never works. If you want to try your hand at putting a timeframe in your own spreads, it may be worth just adding a card to a spread and assigning it the position “What timeframe will this event take place”. Here are the generally accepted methods:
Wands: Days
Cups: Weeks
Swords: Months
Pentacles: Years
So, 6 of Cups would be six weeks.
BUT as you get more familiar with your cards, the timing card could mean something completely different. For example, you could draw 9 of Swords in the position of “What timeframe will this event take place”. In this case, the deck could be having a bit of fun with you and the answer is: “When you stop stressing about it and get a good night’s sleep!”
Another example for you to ponder on. You ask “When is Mr Right going to come along?” The timing card you draw is 3 Cups. Your two possible answers from Tarot are:
a) 3 weeks; or
b) When you get out there and start socialising. How can you meet someone if you keep staying in?
Out of the two methods, we think the more advice-based way to read the timing card would prove more accurate, but give both a try and see how you get on.
